Corgi in ‘The Scene’

When our Health and Safety provider Thomas Carroll asked our MD Chris to take part in a photo shoot for the latest edition of their new business magazine, he was more than a bit dubious. We think you’ll agree, however, that he is more photogenic than perhaps he first thought, and the shots look great!

Corgi was selected to appear in the magazine as a prime example of a strong Welsh company with a powerful brand. The three-page feature includes a profile of the company, an overview of our product range and some interesting facts you may not know about Corgi and the Corgi brand.

It also sees Chris talk about what he believes to be the secret to the business’ success:

“The skill of our workforce, most have worked here for over thirty years, and the quality of our yarns; we insist on only the very best”.

The magazine also features an exclusive competition through which readers can win a 6 month supply of Corgi socks – so it is well worth having a read here.

Where in the world have your Corgis been?

Take a look at this picture our MD Chris was recently emailed – its shows a friend of his sporting a fetching pair of Corgi socks while out on the golf course in a gloriously sunny Newport Beach.

It got us to thinking – where in the world have you taken your Corgis?

Have they accompanied you on a family holiday to sunny Spain? Have they joined you for a brief break in the UK? Or have you taken them further afield – Australia perhaps?

Share your photos and stories with us and we’ll post the most interesting and unique examples on our blog.

And there’s more – once we have received all of your entries, our favourite will be selected to WIN a pair of Corgi socks.

Corgi Countdown Competition – The Winner

The time has finally come to announce the gold medal winner in our great Corgi Countdown. Over the past five weeks we’ve worked our way through the most popular styles in the Corgi collection and can now reveal our number one bestseller. And the winner is, indeed, a worthy one, having outsold the third placed style by two-to-one in the past three months. It is…the men’s skull motif sock in lightweight cotton.

Once reserved for bikers and hardcore rockers, the skull has undergone a transformation from scary to chic in recent years. And, having been popularised by designers like Stella McCartney and Alexander McQueen, the motif is now a fashion staple in the wardrobes of fashionistas young and old. For the less style-adventurous among us, sporting the skull motif on your socks is an ideal way to offer a subtle nod to the trend. And for those with little or no interest in fashion, it’s just a pretty cool looking design!

This sock is lighter in weight than our traditional socks and, having been fashioned from a blend of 100% Egyptian cotton and nylon, it promises the wearer a closer, more snug fit. The sock pictured features red and navy stripes but alternative colour combinations are available for purchase in the Corgi online store.

We’ve reached the penultimate week in our Corgi Countdown and so it’s time to reveal our silver medal winner.

And, the second best selling sock style in the Corgi collection is…the seven-colour multi-stripe in pure cotton.

Made from 100% soft Egyptian cotton, this lightweight sock is ultra-breathable and machine washable, so is perfect for those warmer Spring/Summer days (what are they?! I hear the British among you ask).

In the UK, the phrase “Bless your cotton socks” is widely used as an expression of endearment and we see putting on a pair of these comfortable socks as blessing your feet with the love and appreciation they deserve!

We’ve reached third place in our Corgi Countdown Competition, so it’s time to reveal our bronze medal winner…

And the award goes to the men’s narrow striped wool/cotton combination sock in navy.


This sock features a more muted colour palette than most Corgi fans are perhaps used to but, hey, your feet can’t be the centre of attention every day of the week! And psychologists say that wearing muted tones can, in fact, increase mental focus and encourage physical strength, so we think every man should invest in a pair.
